"Thinking of you" collection

My hubby asked me to make him a "thinking of you" card for the next day - for a collegue at his work. They just found out his wife had cancer - and some of his workmates wanted to send them a card. So I made three to choose from. This first one is the one they chose. I printed off the image, with a simple computer generated sentiment, added a bit of glossy accents on the red and purple flowers and a couple of gems arounf the sentiment, before popping foam pads behind and an embossed border round the card. I must admit, I really like this second card too... another sentiment I found on the internet. I embossed a strip behind the image, added some glossy accents to the flowers and some gems to the bigger flowers. Again, I mounted this on foam - to stand off the card a little. I actually used a cream card this time....I don't often veer -off white, but this time, I thought it called for a softer cream backing.

Finally, the third card I made.... I can't quite remember where I got this image, But I think it is lovely and would easily suit lots of occassions. A simple computer generated sentiment sits at the bottom of the image, which is matted onto red, then embossed round the edge to give a clean finish.

More cards

I was asked to make a card for a little girl called Daisy, for the next morning. I found this image amongst all my crafty stuff, and drew some faux stitching on, and matted it on some old purple docrafts paper that I have had for years. Finally, I added a computer generated image. This image actually looks like Daisy - and I hope she likes it! I was also asked to make a "thinking of you" card...but colourful and happy looking. So, I used this Debbie Mumm image. I added the sentiment on the computer, some glossy accents on the daisies and a couple of gems here and there. I made another of those cards with the pink/black dress on, as I sold the one I made last week. These rub-ons are really easy and fun to use ...will be having another go with these soon (there were loads in the pack...moving house, wine-glasses, cats, dogs, russian dolls, ipods and boys stuff.) The sentiment is from craftwork cards.

Bits and bobs.

I got this lovely set of stamps for my birthday last week, called " the cats whiskers" ...how cute?!
Anyway, they are a bit fiddly to stamp, as those cats are soooo small! I persevered though and made this card for my friend...it's her birthday tomorrow. Hope she likes it!!

I made this card a couple of nights ago, using a set I bought recently from the QVC clearout shop in Warrington. This set consisted of papers and 3d rub-ons, which I thought I would open up and have a go with. The rubons are quite thick, good quality and really easy to use!

I was asked to make a card for a Grandad, for his birthday, with a rugby theme. Looking through my stuff, I realised I have hardly anything for a rugby-themed card! I did find this cute pink petticoat image though, in all my stuff.... and luckily, the person who asked me to make this, was very happy with it! Phew! (Dovecraft papers used and image coloured with chalks.)

I made this card with an embossed frame from craftwork cards...i bought it at the Leigh show last weekend. I just mounted it on 3d foam, to give the frame a bit of lift from the card. I printed the computer generated sentiment straight onto the card from the computer and added a few sparkly little gems onot the middle of the flowers.

Finally, I made this card for a lovely little girl I know who was celebrating her 8th birthday last week. I think this is a patchwork pals image. It made me think of her and her mum crafting, so thought it would be spot on for her. xxx

Smirk cards....

Just a quick one tonight... need to take my mind off stuff (my lovely boy cat - Vincent -has now been missing one year today - but I'm not getting upset...no I'm not...) Ahem....

Yes, erm... Smirk papers. Yes. My friend bought me some of these for my birthday so I thought I would make some quick cards with them over the weekend. For this card, I cut all the little squares right down and made them into this card...

I decoupaged the "born to shop" sentiment on this card and added a bit of glossy accents here and there.....

This paper is so lovely... I only added a flower and a pearl. I might add a stamped sentiment at some point, if the need arises....

Again, this paper only needed a little ribbon and a small stamped sentiment.....

I but the border off the bottom off this paper and added it to the top. with a craftwork cards sentiment...

Thanks for looking at my blog - and for any comments you leave. xxxxx

"Grandma" cards.

I was asked to make some grandma cards this week, and came up with these...

I bought this image a while ago, from PCCrafter (its by the artist Debbie Mumm) and I love it! I generated the image on the pc, and matted it onto some paper I have had for yonks... thought I would finally use it! I just added some punched flowers on the edge, with some hand-drawn stalks.

This is another image from Debbie Mumm... I decoupaged the cat, the cushion and the frog and plantpot. The frame is also decoupaged onto the card to give a bit of depth.

One of my "style" cards at the mo...a sentiment card. Quite a simple one, using the Papermania Hanoverian papers. I cut out some of the flowers to use on foam pads at the edge of the sentiment.

Mothers Day collection

This will only be a short post, because Lily has just decided she really really wants to go to sleep in my arms!I haven't got the heart to move her!

I made this card for my mum, with those fab V&A papers, and some punched flowers and leaves.
of vourse, I have found a nice sentiment for her....

I have made this similar one for my mother-in-law...

And I made these for a friend who asked me to make her a mothers day card for her mum, and one for her aunty who is like her second mum...what a lovely idea! (I have given her the choice of two for her mums card.) I hope she likes what I have made for her.... xxx
